The practice group at King & Spalding LLP is well-versed in handling the appeals of certified class actions and those involving the Administrative Procedures Act, the False Claims Act, and securities laws. The team has particular expertise in arguing cases involving life sciences, healthcare, energy and IP before the Supreme Court and federal and state appellate courts. Leadership of the practice is shared between Washington, D.C.-based duo Jeffrey Bucholtz, who is particularly noted for his appellate work handling matters for FDA/Life Sciences clients; and Ashley Parrish, who majors on administrative law appellate matters. A recent highlight saw Parrish represent the American Clinical Laboratory Association in a challenge to a new final rule issued by the FDA seeking to regulate all laboratory developed testing services as if they are medical devices under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Anne Voigts left the firm in August 2024. Product liability and healthcare litigation specialist Amy Pepke joined the Houston office from Butler Snow LLP in September 2024.
