Jones Day focuses on investigations and disputes of national and cross-border significance. The firm deploys antitrust litigators rather than generalists, and its teams are involved in coordinated defense groups alongside other leading global firms. A feature of the practice is its depth of government experience: 13 members of the US antitrust team previously served at the Federal Trade Commission and/or the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division. The practice is co-led globally by Craig Waldman in Washington, DC, who brings more than 30 years of experience across mergers, monopolization, cartel matters and IP-related antitrust issues. Also in DC, John Majoras is known for leading high-profile antitrust trials and merger challenges, while Julie McEvoy draws on DOJ experience of supervising civil and criminal antitrust matters. David Kiernan contributes trial and economic expertise from San Francisco, and Columbus-based Tiffany Lipscomb-Jackson brings experience in antitrust litigation across regulated driven industries.
