Career

Tomasz is an attorney-at-law and a partner heading the 22-lawyer-strong IP/TMC practice at CMS Poland (Tier 1 team by Legal 500 and Band 2 team by Chambers Europe) and CMS CEE IP practice and CEE AI campaign (7 countries). His area of expertise covers new technologies law, intellectual property rights and data protection, as well as electronic trade and media.

With respect to intellectual property rights, the experience he has acquired includes comprehensive legal assistance in enforcing the protection of intellectual property rights and fair competition principles. Tomasz advises clients on preparing and implementing brand protection strategies. He represents clients in pre-court negotiations with infringers, in civil and penal proceedings, and co-ordinates intellectual property rights customs protection programmes.

Since 1998 he has specialised in IT consultancy, managing the implementation of IT systems and outsourcing solutions projects. He advises both service providers as well as end users, by negotiating agreements concerning services, maintenance, implementation and licensing for IT solutions.

Tomasz Koryzma is also an expert in the field of personal data and privacy protection. He advises clients on the cross-border use of personal data in capital groups, processing personal data in electronic business, with respect to the violation of moral rights and inspection procedures pertaining to the compliance with GDPR, and also by conducting internal audits in this respect.

Tomasz Koryzma is an active member of INTA and has served on the EU Anti-Counterfeiting Committee, the Parallel Import Committee and the Data Protection Committee, currently he serves on the Copyright Committee. He is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and iTech law.
