Birkway B.V. is an Amsterdam-based disputes litigation boutique with a strong focus on collective redress claims, including both class actions and mass claims. The firm is known for its collaborative nature, often acting as co-counsel on class actions and working closely together with internal and external experts and strategists. The team is co-led by Quirijn Bongaerts, who is a ‘go-to lawyer in the Netherlands on collective redress and securities litigation’. Bongaerts has a wealth of experience in class actions and is well versed in assisting claimants. Practice co-lead Joost Edixhoven is noted for his expertise in ESG and environmental matters, assisting on key issues such as diesel emission class actions. Fellow co-head Michiel van Eersel is noted for his specialism in finance-related class actions. Previous practice head Ianika Tzankova left the firm in July 2024.
