The practice group at Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes S.C. is well-placed to advise domestic and international corporations, banks and other financial entities on a range of regulatory and transactional mandates that includes syndicated loans, leveraged finance, asset-backed financings and project finance. A recent highlight saw the team assist Citibanamex, as administrative agent and lead lender, with a senior unsecured syndicated loan of up to $215m granted to Grupo Industrial Saltillo. Leadership of the practice is shared between Ricardo Maldonado, Manuel Echave, Francisco Ibáñez, Martín Sánchez and Patrick Meshoulam. Maldonado specialises in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, public and private debt and equity offerings, financings and infrastructure projects; while Echave handles banking and corporate finance transactions, capital markets and real estate. Ibáñez, in turn, handles banking and finance, M&A, capital markets and corporate law matters; Sánchez majors on corporate finance and energy and infrastructure law; and up-and-coming younger partner Meshoulam focuses on corporate law, M&A transactions and financings. Carlos Jiménez Cantú (syndicated loans, project finance and real estate) is also noted. At associate level, the key contacts are Jorge Javier Mendizábal (financing and debt restructuring); Juan Pablo Betancourt (corporate law, banking, project finance); and José Pellón (corporate law, capital markets and financings). Since publication, Betancourt has been raised to the partnership - effective as of January 2026.
