Wong & Partners's real estate and construction practice handles complex transactions and high-stakes disputes, with a distinct specialism in the data centre sector. The real estate team advises on a significant volume of new data centre projects in Malaysia, alongside build-to-suit leases and corporate leasing. Chih-wen Ooi is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Wong & Partners. He has appeared at all levels of courts in Malaysia and is well versed in arbitration, adjudication, mediation at various regional institutions/rules such as the AIAC, UNCITRAL, ICC, SIAC and PAM. He is also an Adjudicator empaneled with the AIAC.

He has been serving as a Committee Member in the Society of Construction Law (Malaysia) since 2016 and a Committee Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Malaysia) Young Members Group since 2017.

He regularly publishes and several notable publications including the Law and Practice of Construction Law in Malaysia, Sweet and Maxwell (2021) and Malaysia’s First Supplement to the Delay and Disruption Protocol published by the Society of Construction Law (Malaysia) (2017).

Advised DayOne Data Centers Malaysia III Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of GDS Holdings, on its MYR300m acquisition of 147.85 acres of industrial land from Nusajaya Tech Park Sdn. Bhd, which includes flexibility for GDS to obtain development approvals before completion.
Advised Chenbro (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Chenbro Micom Co., Ltd., on its MYR49.2m acquisition of industrial land from Senai Airport City Sdn. Bhd. in Johor Bahru; Chenbro will construct a low-carbon green factory, its first manufacturing base in Southeast Asia, on the 6.09 hectares of land.
