Work highlights

Continuing to act for an individual client, the public inquiry into the miscarriage of justice he suffered, as a result of which he spent 17 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, as well as in associated claims for compensation.
Advising one of the “Cardiff Three”, who was wrongly convicted of killing a newsagent in 1987, and another individual (wrongly convicted in 1978 of attempted murder and an attempted sexual offence aged 15) in a judicial review of the Secretary of State for Justice’s decision not to reimburse deductions made to compensation paid to them under the Statutory Compensation Scheme for Miscarriages of Justice for ‘Saved Living Expenses’ during the time they were wrongfully imprisoned.
Acting for an individual in her attempts to secure access to the historic murder investigation file regarding the 1954 killing of her relative, held by the National Archives (the NA).
