Position

Jonathan is an experienced and sought-after KC having taken Silk in 2016 at just 13 years’ call. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of commercial chancery work with a particular focus on tax, trusts and property.

Jonathan’s expertise in his principal areas of practice is reflected in his recognition in the directories, which highlight his reputation for analysing with precision and explaining with clarity. He is regularly acknowledged as amongst the leaders in his fields, shortlisted for barrister of the year on a number of occasions in the areas of chancery, tax and property (Chambers & Partners, Legal 500), and the winner of the Silk of the Year (Tax) Award at the Chambers & Partners Bar Awards 2024. Jonathan was shortlisted for Barrister of the Year at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2025.

Jonathan is a highly persuasive advocate, who is “very well respected by the judges” (Legal 500), and has substantial experience both as a trial lawyer and as an appellate advocate. As well as enjoying being on his feet in courts and tribunals dealing with complex, fact heavy, large scale litigation, Jonathan is equally at ease advising in conference on fine points of law. Jonathan is regularly instructed by the UK Government. The multi-specialism nature of Jonathan’s expertise is reflected in his ranking in the directories across a range of areas including tax, private client, real estate, chancery and charities. Jonathan is called in the BVI.
