CMS‘s multiple offices in Latin America, coupled with its global focus on energy, climate change, infrastructure and projects, brings it a wealth of engagements in the region. Green hydrogen and other energy transition projects are a growth area for the firm. It has offices in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, along with a presence in São Paulo. Operating across the energy sector (including oil and gas, electricity and renewables), the firm is also active in the mining arena. It represents numerous energy multinationals and has close links to government entities. Among a number of headline deals for the Latin America group, a multi-office team advised GeoPark on its bid for Repsol’s assets in Colombia. Ted Rhodes heads the Latin America and Brazil desks in the London office, having led the Rio de Janeiro office for 14 years; he remains active in oil and gas, renewable energy and mining projects in the region, recently advising Eneva on the charter of a floating storage unit to support its operations and LNG stock management at its gas hub located in Sergipe, Brazil. \n \n
