This has led to an uptick in acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, spin-offs and other corporate transactions for the Latin America group. With the firm’s huge global presence, the Latin America team is frequently engaged in multi-jurisdictional carve-outs, spin-offs and divestitures. Along with high-value and cross-border M&A transactions, the firm is also gaining recognition for venture capital and growth company work. The US-based Latin America group has an excellent record in Mexico deals, especially in the real estate sector; it advised LatAm Logistic Properties (LLP) on its business combination with TWOA, a special purpose acquisition company, that resulted in LLP becoming a publicly listed company on the New York Stock Exchange. Michael Fitzgerald has an outstanding reputation in the Latin America market, particularly in Mexico. Miami partner Federico Cuadra Del Carmen has burgeoning standing in the market and recently advised Mercon Coffee Corp on its cross-border restructuring process; he is also noted for cross-border M&A.
