Winston & Strawn LLP continues to build out its presence in Miami with a further emphasis on Latin America business. Juan Delgado joined the office in January 2025, bringing additional expertise in private equity, venture and growth capital, particularly in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. He links up with an already formidable corporate team in Miami, notably Miami managing partner Enrique Martin, Nicholas Rodríguez and newly-promoted partner Paul Jezierny. The enlarged corporate team has an excellent record in cross-border M&A, including intra-regional transactions in Latin America; Rodriguez led the team that advised El Salvador-based Grupo Calleja on its $1.2bn acquisition of Colombian retailer Almacenes Éxito, which has stores across South America. Andrew Hinkes was brought into the Miami team to reinforce its pre-existing standing as a leader in digital assets and blockchain technology, a group led by Daniel Stabile and Kimberly Prior. In the Latin America context, the office continues to be at the forefront of financial services regulatory matters thanks to the presence of Carl Fornaris and his wider team; while Juan Azel is a leader in fintech transactions, commercial arrangements and regulatory matters. Chair of the Latin America projects practice, Richard Puttré focuses on the US and Latin American markets, often representing Spanish sponsors in renewable energy and energy transition projects. Gustavo Membiela is another prominent name in litigation and arbitration, while Craig Rasile has a background in cross-border restructurings in the Latin America region.
