The TMT practice at Khaitan & Co. acts for a wide range of media and entertainment clients, including video-on-demand platforms, streaming apps, production houses and digital media companies, in transactional and advisory matters. The team’s work covers data protection, dispute resolution, licensing, policy development, and contractual issues. Its expertise extends to cybersecurity law, AI governance and compliance, gaming and digital payments, e-commerce regulation, intermediary liability, as well as submarine cable and satellite communications regulations. The practice is jointly led by New Delhi-based Harsh Walia, who leads the technology and communications team and is well versed in handling regulatory, transactional and commercial contracting in these segments; and Mumbai-based Tanu Banerjee, who leads the media and entertainment practice and has experience in sector-related M&A, content licensing and brand deals.
