Dispute resolution

Babbé LLP‘s Disputes and Risk team takes instructions on trust, commercial and insolvency matters, representing both corporate and individual clients, including trustees, beneficiaries and banks and others before the Royal Court. Heading the team is Todd McGuffin, who handles contentious insolvency proceedings as part of a practice that also spans trust litigation and regulatory matters. Managing partner Nick Robison specialises in trust disputes, with particular expertise in defending the interests of minor and unborn beneficiaries, while Martin Jones tackles trust and fund litigation in addition to working on tort claims.

He also has extensive experience of commercial litigation and of regulatory matters.

Career

Nick qualified as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 2004 and in England in 2010.

He gained valuable dispute resolution experience practising commercial litigation in Sydney and London before joining Babbé LLP in 2010.

He re-qualified as a Guernsey Advocate in 2012, was made a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team in 2016 and became Babbé's Managing Partner on 1 June 2021.
