Career

Ying Li is a partner at Beijing Anli Partners. Having been based in New York, Hong Kong and Beijing for 30 years in leading international and PRC law firms, including Proskauer, Heller Ehrman (Venture Law Group), Jones Day, and Allen & Overy, Ying’s practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate and transactional, international trade (including export controls and sanctions), private equity (including QFLP and QDLP funds), overseas public and private financing and outbound investments of PRC enterprises. He covers a wide variety of industries, such as energy, natural resources, banking and finance, TMT, medical, entertainment, hospitality and infrastructure. He has spearheaded numerous influential and structurally complex transactions within the industries and provides long-standing legal services to renowned domestic and international corporations and institutions, with a clientele that extends globally.

Ying regularly counsels multinational companies and financial institutions on entering into the China market, structures complex and innovative investments and acquisitions in China involving joint ventures, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, holding companies, partnerships, licensing and other creative vehicles, and advises them on regulatory, compliance, foreign exchange, and financial issues. Additionally, Ying frequently advises international GPs and LPs on setting up, participating in and restructuring PRC focused investment funds (including forefront and innovative PRC-domiciled RMB funds like QFLP funds ) and their fund investments in China. He also represents PRC companies in their onshore and offshore investment structuring, incorporation, financing, restructuring, and exit, throughout the whole life circle.

Formerly a law professor at Renmin University of China, Ying is a frequent speaker onM&A, ODI, corporate finance and private equity, international trade and is quoted extensively by international and Chinese press. Ying received various awards and recognitions from Chambers, Legal 500 Asia Pacific, IFLR1000, China Business Law Journal, LegalBand, Legal Vision and other major lawyers ranking institutions.
