The eight-strong team at Prieto Abogados’ public law practice has been bolstered by several recent hires, strengthening the team’s specialist sectoral expertise. The practice regularly advises corporate clients from key sectors such as energy, telecommunications, infrastructure and water sanitation on administrative processes, regulatory compliance, permitting and litigation ( often appearing before Chile’s Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, as well as regulatory authorities). The practice is co-led by Agustín Martorell and senior associate Diego Canto. Martorell is a leading public law practitioner with extensive experience advising domestic and international clients on regulatory and administrative matters, particularly in the energy, water sanitation, and environmental sectors. An October 2024 hire, Canto has over eight years' experience in administrative and regulatory law, having previously served as a senior attorney at Chile’s Office of the Comptroller General; he brings particular expertise in economic and administrative regulations, public procurement and utilities regulation. Promoted to the partnership in January 2025, Andrea Von Chrismar specialises in industries where economic regulation intersects with competition law, and regularly represents clients before Chile’s National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE), the Chilean Antitrust Court (TDLC), and specialised regulatory tribunals such as the Energy Experts Panel. Head of the firm's litigation practice, Fernando Samaniego has considerable experience in administrative disputes, contentious construction matters and environmental regulation.
