The banking and finance practice at DLA Piper Chile encompasses acquisition, leveraged, asset and project finance, particularly in relation to infrastructure and industrial projects. The eight-strong team’s experience also covers secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated loans, structured finance, and general bank and interbank lending. It further fields experts in the refinancing and restructuring of existing loans and debtor-in-possession financings. The group is additionally mandated for fintech matters, such as payments, investments, personal finance, P2P lending and cryptocurrencies. In addition to co-heading the compliance and white-collar offering in Chile, Mauricio Halpern leads the banking and finance team. At senior associate level, Eduardo Araya advises on corporate finance, project financing and bond issues; and Vicente Vergara assists companies with corporate and project finance, as well as lending transactions and structured products. Since publication, the practice group has been further strengthened with the hire of Ignacio Delpino - formerly general counsel and secretary of the board at Banco Security - as a partner (effective as of December 2025).
