With experience before all levels of court and tribunals across Canada, the Toronto litigation team at McCarthy Tétrault has in-depth knowledge of the mining, energy and retail sectors. The group is led by national lead Thomas Sutton and Ontario lead Julie Parla, who specializes in construction and procurement litigation. Counsel R Paul Steep is known for his work in complex securities litigation, whilst Geoff Hall offers a wealth of experience in contract and shareholder disputes. Sarit Batner has extensive trial and appellate experience. Other key members of the team include Adam Goldenberg (class actions and arbitrations) and Moya Graham (professional liability and infrastructure disputes). Fiona Legere and Junior Sirivar left the team in 2024, whilst Vasuda Sinha joined from Freshfields LLP in April 2025.
