Co-led by seasoned specialists Cassio Gama Amaral and Thomaz Kastrup,Machado Meyer Sendacz e Opice Advogados' insurance practice handles transactional, regulatory, and contentious matters. Known for its transactional strength, the firm regularly advises on M&A, portfolio transfers, and distribution arrangements, while also guiding clients through complex regulatory frameworks, cross-border collateral guarantees, and product development for surety bonds. The team is equally active in high-stakes disputes, including surplus distribution claims and litigation involving companies under judicial recovery, with Amaral bringing deep regulatory and transactional expertise and Kastrup covering a broad scope including (re)insurance, healthcare, and pensions mandates. André Filipe Guimarães Fortunato works on M&A transactions for the insurance and reinsurance sector.
