As an international IP consultancy firm, ClarkeModet is devoted to filing, prosecuting, and maintaining clients' IP portfolios, most prominently involving patents and trade marks. The firm's Argentine practice group is recognised for its innovative and creative strategies, such as arguing for the conversion of utility model applications to patents before administrative bodies so as to secure their clients' IP rights. The team also offers counselling on areas such as trade secrets, data protection, licensing agreements and copyright assignment. The department is led by 'excellent professional' María Luisa Santa María who is particularly noted for her capabilities in IP prosecution (including via recourse to judicial measures) and whose trade mark counsel 'is always fruitful and connected with the matter in hand'. Her team includes expereinced legal services manager Veronica Kapovic, who focuses on intellectual property and internet matters; and associate Camila Hernandez who litigates trade mark, patent, copyright, domain name and anti-counterfeiting issues. The practice was further strengthened in September 2024 with the hire of senior associate Eliana Villafañe from Berken IP.
