Scott Vernick was quoted in the Law360 article,
"FTC Stakes Claim To Privacy Authority With 2014 Plan."

synopsis is noted below.
The Federal Trade Commission announced that it will hold
seminars in early 2014 to probe the privacy implications of issues
ranging from mobile device tracking to health data security. The
move is one many attorneys say will advance the commission's
bid to establish itself as the leading authority on privacy
matters.
"There is going to be a continuing discussion — or,
alternatively, an ongoing tug-of-war — about the overlapping
roles of the FTC and the HHS' Office of Civil Rights and about
who is responsible for regulating consumers' protected health
information," said Scott Vernick, a privacy attorney.
