New Calls For Net Neutrality

Comcast’s reported blocking or delaying of BitTorrent file sharing software (see related article in the October issue of this Bulletin) has continued to reverberate, leading to additional calls for net neutrality.  A new organization – the Network Neutrality Squad – has been created as a clearinghouse for net neutrality complaints.  The group reportedly has already received complaints by Internet users about traffic control measures allegedly used by several cable companies and Internet Service Providers.

The Ad Standard: Monthly Update - October 2026

Affordability remains front and center at the FTC. This month, the agency turned its attention to healthcare and gas costs. It also issued detailed guidance on price transparency for auto dealers that marketers in any industry might want to heed: the advertised price “must be the actual price that any consumer can walk in and pay,” with only government fees excluded. The FTC continues to consider how to combat scams and is seeking public comment on whether online platforms should help stop scammers who use those platforms to impersonate third parties by, for example, requiring the removal of confirmed impersonation scam ads.

New Law Ushers In Sweeping Changes To Bankruptcy Regime In China

The new Enterprise Bankruptcy Law of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) (Bankruptcy Law) was adopted on August 27, 2006 and will take effect on June 1, 2007, superseding the 1986-enacted Enterprise Bankruptcy Law (Trial) 1986, governing the bankruptcy of State-owned Enterprises .
