Always good to see "green" entrepreneurs succeeding as this Nashville eco-store takes her business national:

More than half of all shoppers remain willing to pay a premium price for everything from eco-friendly soaps to energy-efficient appliances, and a 29-year-old entrepreneur based in Nashville hopes to cash in by taking her Green Wagon retail concept selling lots of Tennessee-made merchandise to a national audience.

The flagship store (it was licensed to new owners via a franchise deal this month) sells green products ranging from colorful crayons made from soybeans to razors fashioned from recycled yogurt cups.

Green Wagon brand owner Jennifer Casale, who opened her first shop two years ago, wants to license the concept of a one-stop shop that focuses on locally made and eco-friendly merchandise across the Southeast, including possible locations in Murfreesboro, New Orleans and Louisville, Ky.

She also hopes to boost national sales via a website in the making (thegreenwagon.com) that should debut in a month. (The Green Wagon brand name refers to Casale's green station wagon, a 1982 Mercedes 200TD that runs on waste vegetable oil.)
