ACG MiddleMarket Policy Summit on Jan 27

The Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) is hosting its 4th annual MiddleMarket Policy Summit at the Park Hyatt in Washington DC. Scheduled speakers include Rep. Ron Kind (DWI); Rep. Mike Quigley (DIL); Rep. Steve Stivers (ROH) ; and Marc Wyatt, Deputy Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE). DoddFrank Reform Bill Fails on Suspension Vote

Yesterday, the House of Representatives failed to pass a DoddFrank reform bill that cobbled together nearly a dozen separate bills that had been considered last Congress, including legislation that would benefit investment advisers to SBICs and help M&A brokers. Even though the vote was 276-146 in favor of passage, a twothirds vote was required for passage because the bill was brought to the House floor on suspension of the rules.
