KPMG Corporate Finance has acted as sponsor to Teamtalk.com Group plc, the provider of original sports content via the Internet, telephone networks and satellite, in relation to its flotation and £60 million institutional placing, which values the company at £307 million.
This is in addition to KPMG Corporate Finance's role as financial adviser to IMS Group PLC, the telecommunications service provider, on the demerger and separate listing of Teamtalk.com Group plc.
Bob Bigley, partner with KPMG Corporate Finance, commented:
"We believe this transaction represents one of the most complicated and high-profile public company deals in the UK, as well as being the first tax efficient demerger in the UK to be combined with a non pre-emptive placing. It also further reinforces the track record of our Technology, Media and Entertainment ('TME') team in advising on significant transactions in these sectors."
The Technology, Media and Entertainment ('TME') team at KPMG Corporate Finance has recently acted as adviser on the following transactions:
- MotionPoster plc: acted as financial adviser on its admission to the Alternative Investment Market following its reverse takeover of Westminster Scaffolding Group plc (March 2000). This transaction represents an excellent example of KPMG taking an equity stake in a company which it believes has a bright future;
- Concept!: acted as financial adviser and sponsor to one of the leading multimedia companies in Germany on its admission to the Neuer Markt (March 2000);
- Integralis Ltd: on its merger with Articon AG, forming the largest Internet and network security solutions provider in Europe (December 1999);
- Fulcrum Solutions Ltd: on its sale to Whittmann Hart (November 1999);
- EasyScreen plc: acted as financial adviser and sponsor on its admission to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange (October 1999).
