The Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Facilitating Attraction of Foreign Investments" entered into force

The Law introduces the concept of nominee holders of securities into the Ukrainian legal framework, which will enhance investment attractiveness of Ukraine. Nominee holders will be able to open nominee accounts with Ukrainian depository institutions and nominee holders will be able to open accounts for non-resident clients-investors. The law defines "nominee holders" as foreign financial institutions incorporated in a member state of the EU and/or a member state of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) complying with the requirements of Ukrainian laws and entitled according to the laws of its jurisdiction to provide its clients with securities accounting and registration of transfers of title to securities, including abroad.
