Bauvorhaben sind komplex und erfordern durchdachte Werkverträge. In der Praxis wird  dabei meist die Norm SIA 118 für anwendbar erklärt. Professionelle Bauherren bestehen   jedoch darauf, dass zahlreiche Anpassungen zur Norm SIA 118 vereinbart werden.

ALLGEMEINE BEDINGUNGEN. Das Baugesche- hen in der Schweiz ist geprägt von privaten  Baunormen. Besonderen Stellenwert kom- men dabei den SIA-Vertragsnormen zu. Die  Norm SIA 118 «Allgemeine Bedingungen  für Bauarbeiten» enthält Regeln betreffend  Abschluss, Inhalt und Abwicklung von Ver- trägen über Bauarbeiten. Als vertragliches  Regelwerk erlangt die Norm SIA 118 nur  insoweit Geltung, als sie von den Parteien  einzelvertraglich übernommen wird.  Den  Parteien  ist es  folglich unbenommen, die  Norm SIA 118 grundsätzlich für anwend- bar zu erklären, aber in gewissen Punkten  von ihr abzuweichen.
