What are the most common types of private equity transactions in your jurisdiction? What is the current state of the market for these transactions?

All of the standard transaction strategies to acquire portfolio companies are commonly used in Switzerland. We assume that regular leveraged buyouts have accounted for the majority of the transactions in recent years. In 2025, the total deal volume in the private equity sector remained stable, with a further slight increase in the number of deals from the low of 2023 (according to the KPMG M&A Sector Reports for Switzerland from January 2026, available at https://assets.kpmg.com/content/dam/kpmgsites/ch/pdf/sector-report-clarity-on-mergers-acquisitions-switzerland-2025.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf). For 2026, a further slight recovery is expected due to an exit backlog.
