The OJK is mandated by the Insurance Law to issue implementing regulations on many of these issues. While the OJK has issued several implementing regulations, there are still regulations to be issued.

As mandated under Law Number 4 of 2023 on Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector ("P2SK Law") the insurance industry, the Government requires, among others; minimum capital, sharia industry spin-offs.

The governing law for direct insurance policies issued by Indonesian insurers is generally Indonesian law, although this is not mandated by Indonesian law or regulation.
