Latin Lawyer is pleased to announce the recipients of three Lifetime Achievement Awards: Jorge Carey, chairman of Chile's largest law firm, Carey; Wald e Associados Advogados founder Arnoldo Wald; and Juan Manuel Prieto of Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (Colombia), who receives his award posthumously.

Chilean firm Carey has promoted three lawyers to counsel positions, two of them women, in its corporate and M&A, IP and technology, and environmental practices.

Carey has helped the International Finance Corporation grant a US$30 million loan to Chilean financial institution Banco Consorcio. The loan closed on 31 August.
