What Does Cloud Switching Under The Data Act Require Of Providers Selling To The Public Sector?
The EU Data Act's Chapter VI now mandates binding cloud switching rules for providers serving EU customers, prohibiting switching fees from January 2027 and establishing strict timelines for service transitions. Nordic public sector buyers are increasingly requiring credible exit strategies as a competitive factor in procurement, even in Norway and Iceland where the regulation does not yet formally apply.
