Jakarta and Amsterdam Link Up

NetherlandsLitigation, Mediation & Arbitration
The Stock Exchanges of Jakarta and Amsterdam are looking to combine their knowledge and expertise of their markets. The two bourses have signed a long-term agreement to co-operate to enhance their future development.

The agreement harks back to a long-standing trading relationship between the Netherlands and Indonesia.

A rising, emerging market in Asia, the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) launched its Automated Trading System (JATS) in May 1995. The new system will enhance the efficiency and liquidity of securities trading in Indonesia, and increase its attraction to both domestic and foreign investors.

"This is the initial step towards a long-term partnership between JSX and ASE in mobilising our two countries' Stock Exchange resources," said Hasan Zein Mahmud, President Director JSX. Amsterdam's General Manager, Hans K. Brouwer, agreed. He trusts that the contribution each exchange could make to the partnership will be mutually beneficial.
