1. INTRODUCTION

Mexico's labour law landscape has changed more in the past five years than in the last forty years. The USMCA that entered into force on 1 July 2022, alongside some of the ILO's conventions ratifications, brought with them several commitments that needed to be addressed as reforms to the Mexican legal framework. Nevertheless, labour relations continue to be highly regulated in our country and Mexican employees generally have greater rights than their non-Mexican counterparts, so employers who deal with operations in Mexico or those who are planning to, should bear that in mind.

De La Vega & Martínez Rojas, S.C. is a law firm integrated by a group of Mexican attorneys with wide professional experience, devoted to the provision of legal counseling on labour and employment matters. Our offices are headquartered in Mexico City with a network of correspondents in order to provide our customers specialised legal services throughout the country.
