La loi du 8 avril 2018 sur les marchés publics transposant les directives 2014/24/UE du 26 février 2014 sur la passation des marchés publics et 2014/25/UE du 26 février 2014 sur la passation des marchés par des entités opérant dans les secteurs de l'eau, de l'énergie, des transports et des services postaux a été publiée au Journal Officiel du Grand-duché de Luxembourg le 16 avril 2018. Elle est entrée en vigueur le 20 avril 2018.

La loi du 8 avril 2018 sur les marchés publics abroge la loi du 25 juin 2009 sur les marchés publics « sauf en ce qui concerne les contrats de concession de travaux et de services » et vise à clarifier, à consolider et à moderniser les règles applicables en la matière. Plus particulièrement, elle a pour objectif de simplifier les procédures de marchés publics, notamment pour les PME, et de favoriser la prise en compte de critères sociaux et environnementaux.
