Cameroon: New tax compliance certificate required for some consular business visa applications

Some consulates in Cameroon currently require persons applying for a consular business visa to present a certificate of tax compliance issued by the Cameroonian tax authorities.

However, practical experience has shown that this requirement is not uniformly implemented by all consulates. The tax compliance certificate (issued online or at the tax authority in Cameroon) proves that a foreign national is fully compliant with tax regulations and this certificate must be valid for three months prior to the date of application. In addition, applicants under the age of 18, students with no income and applicants with medical emergencies in Cameroon are exempt from this requirement. Previously, the submission of a tax compliance certificate was not required.
