Asia's emerging markets are making their mark on the global
stage and infrastructure development has played a major role in
their growing prominence.
Think high-speed rail, mega bridges, energy projects and
brand-new cities. The region, which is spending nearly a trillion
dollars a year on infrastructure, offers a vast array of project
finance opportunities for global investors. But success on the
ground is predicated upon the ability to navigate a landscape
coloured by Asia's cultural, political and regulatory
diversity.
Infrastructure development is a vital need and a key economic
driver in emerging Asia. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) estimates
that developing Asia will need USD26 trillion between
2016-2030,1 or USD1.7 trillion a year, in infrastructure
investments to continue growing at current rates.
