The Queensland Government has created a new racing control body, Racing Queensland Limited. This body, an amalgamation of the previous racing control bodies for thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing in Queensland, has been granted the powers to manage the three codes of racing.

These legislative changes were implemented to provide a unified commercial approach and to facilitate effective decision-making for the Queensland racing industry as a whole, as well as to reduce administrative costs.
