Hemisphere Media Group, a leading publicly traded Spanish-language media company that operates television networks in the US and Latin America, has a high quality in-house legal team led by general counsel, Alex Tolston. The team manages all M&A, corporate and media legal matters among others ensuring the smooth operation of the multi-jurisdictional Latin American media giant. During the course of the research, nominators were quick to highlight the team’s impressive role in the company’s recent expansion. In the last six months the team has finalised the acquisition of a 75% equity interest in Snap Global, a major independent content distributer in Latin America, operating its pay TV and OTT services. The team has also worked on the signing of a multi-year agreement with the Dominican Professional Baseball Winter League (LIDOM) to broadcast games on its network, completed in August 2018.
