Career Biography
Justine is Chief Legal Officer of National Grid, one of the world’s largest publicly listed utilities focused on transmission and distribution of electricity and gas. National Grid operates in the US & UK connecting millions of people to the energy they use, while continually seeking ways to make the energy system cleaner. Justine is responsible for legal, risk, ethics and compliance, sustainability, safety, health and wellbeing, engineering excellence, resilience and crisis management, technical training and secretariat activities across the Group. Justine also manages the effective operating of National Grid’s Board & Committees and advises on key issues of corporate governance. Prior to this, she served most recently as Group General Counsel & Company Secretary at Centrica plc. Previous roles include General Counsel & External Affairs Director at Vodafone UK and European General Counsel of Telefonica (O2). Justine holds an LLB (hons) degree from Trinity College Dublin and qualified as a solicitor with Freshfields, spending five years working in their London and Brussels offices. Justine is an Executive Committee member of GC100.
