Career Biography

Clare was from 2016-2026 the General Counsel & Company Secretary at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners plc (“CCEP”), a Nasdaq 100 and FTSE 100 company, leading the legal, risk, compliance, security and company secretariat teams, on the Executive Committees for Diversity, Sustainability and Business Transformation and Technology. She was also instrumental in CCEP’s expansion, including the multibillion takeover of Coca-Cola Amatil, and in the integration and driving of a positive culture through the new organisation.

Prior to joining CCEP, Clare was the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at Kingfisher plc where she founded the women’s network. She was the General Counsel and Company Secretary and then the Commercial Director at Tube Lines, and held senior roles at the Royal Mail Group. She began her legal career as a barrister before moving to what is now Hogan Lovells.

She has always had a keen interest in pro bono and is the pro bono rep for the GC100 and fundraising chair for Support through Court. She is also passionate about giving everyone the opportunity to be the best they can be and worked to promote inclusivity and diversity in the profession, as well as in the companies for which she worked, including through apprenticeship and summer placement schemes, panel firm reporting requirements, development processes, mentoring and coaching, and driving corporate networks and policies.

She has also supported good governance, driving practical, effective and well understood governance processes in the companies for which she worked. She has also engaged the FCA and other regulators on governance change and improvement including through governance working group for GC100 of which she was a member for 15 years.

Clare is also Senior Independent Director of The City of London Investment Trust plc and the Chair of the Fundraising Committee for Royal British Veterans Enterprises (previously Royal British Legion Industries) with a successful campaign to raise the money for a new factory and learning centre to bring mentally and physical disabled individuals back into work. She was President of the Friendly Almshouses for several years.

Clare was the Chair of Basketball England between 2016 – 2020 promoting access to grass roots sport and improving the governance and solvency. She was also senior independent director of Modern Pentathlon GB and a Rear-Commodore of the Royal Ocean Racing Club leading a Southern Cross team and volunteered at the Special Olympics. Clare also competed in varsity rowing, riding and modern pentathlon.
