Rönesans Gayrimenkul Yatırım (RGY) is a commercial real estate development and investment company, and part of the Rönesans Group. Head of legal, Eda Arıcıoğlu, spearheads the recently expanded legal team of five lawyers and one paralegal. After comparing in-house work to that of external law firms, Arıcıoğlu decided to increase the legal team from three to five lawyers, plus the paralegal. He notes that ‘we provide more efficient, solution-oriented and faster service [than law firms], which is priceless’. Creating trust within the company and among the board of directors is a top priority for Arıcıoğlu; in order to generate this his team members now directly work together with the CEO and board members for projects they have been appointed for. Arıcıoğlu himself is one of the executive committee members of the company, playing a directly active role in its decision making. The team has recently given training sessions to all departments and shopping centres under the company’s management and took over all work from the legal departments of other subsidiaries.
