Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR)

About

The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR) is the country’s leading radio and TV broadcaster. Founded in 1931, SRG SSR is a non-profit organisation, funded mainly through radio and television licence fees, advertising and sponsorship. Head of the legal department Adrian Boss and his team have often been the supportive and driving force behind the success of the broadcasting corporation. Their hard work has not gone unnoticed by peers who describe them as being ‘excellent in combining business and legal elements’. Most recently the team has been central to the acquisition and management of Sport TV rights which has been considered one of the most crucial additions to the national television company in recent times. The team helped negotiate with Discovery Communications who sublicensed extensive television rights ahead of the Olympic Winter Games in 2018 and Olympic Games in 2020 to SRG SSR. Thanks to the legal team SRG SSR acquired the exclusive free-to-air TV rights and non-exclusive radio rights for the Olympics to provide domestic coverage in French, German, Italian and Romansch language.
