About

A Swedish public limited company headquartered in Solna, PostNord was founded in 2009 as a result of the merger between Post Danmark and Posten. PostNord is owned 40% by the Danish State and 60% by the Swedish State, but its voting rights are split 50/50 between the owners. In 2017, PostNord delivered 4.3 billion letters and shipments along with 154 million parcels to the Nordic region’s 25 million residents and two million businesses. Kristina Lilja has served as the general counsel and board secretary of the company since January 2015, having attained extensive managerial experience and in-house legal expertise. Lilja formerly worked as vice president and legal counsel for Husqvarna and has held positions as corporate lawyer or general counsel at multiple companies including Hi3G Access (which operates under the 3 brand), IFS and Cybercom. As a communications and logistics company and mail operator in Sweden and Denmark, PostNord facilitates communications to, from and within the Nordic region ensuring mail delivery to private individuals and business in Sweden and Denmark. In addition to this core business, PostNord has recently started moving into other areas of communications and is an innovator in e-commerce, distribution and logistics. Lilja has been involved in this push into new markets, in her handling of all legal matters for the company, including the recent contract negotiations with Wish, as part of its e-commerce industry. The deal lets PostNord’s Swedish customers avoid having to pay VAT or handling fees on items ordered on Wish, as these costs will be paid at the point of purchase. This deal and others demonstrate Lilja’s experience in the range of issues encountered by a notable Nordic company in the fields of e-commerce and communication logistics.
