Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena engages in the provision of retail and commercial banking services, operating through a number of business segments including retail banking, wealth management, corporate banking, Banca Widiba and Corporate Centre.
The legal team is tasked with the range of complex legal tasks required for its various departments, and are considered internally as experts at advising in proprietary finance, asset liability management, treasury and capital management.
In February 2019, the legal team worked on successfully completing the securitisation of a portfolio of €2.3bn consisting of performing loans granted to small and medium-sized Italian companies, a transaction executed as part of the Bank’s funding programme.
