Having a proven track record in delivering tailored legal advice to this vast organisation within the oil and gas sector, the legal function at IOCL has received significant investment to recruit a number of in-house lawyers in recent years. The large team is comprised of some of India’s most talented in-house legal advisers who continue to assist the company to further consolidate its evolution from a pure petroleum refining and marketing company to a full-fledged energy company. With the company planning to invest over a trillion rupees over the next five to seven years to expand its refining capacity, its legal team look set to play an integral role in achieving its goals. In the previous financial year, the legal team assisted IOCL’s acquisition of stakes in two oil and gas assets in Russia as part of an Indian consortium which increased the company’s oil and gas reserves.
