ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal is responsible for the management of 10 airports in Portugal, and holds a concession to provide the civil aviation public service in the country. Other business areas of the group include advertising spaces in airports, real estate and commercial parking and car rental services. The legal team is led by renowned and longstanding senior manager of legal affairs, Maria José Viegas, who is praised by nominators for the unique skillset she brings to the team. ‘There are very few lawyers with the knowledge, experience and skills of Maria José in the sectors where ANA operates, particularly in regulatory matters’, one source states. In 2013, the legal team assisted in the company integrating VINCI Airports, a company which develops, finances, builds and operates a vast network of airports around the world and ensures their development and commercial use.
