Hutchinson Ports continues to deserve recognition as a top in-house legal team in Hong Kong after its inclusion in last year’s edition of the GC Powerlist. Hutchison Ports’ legal team is responsible for all elements of legal management at the company as well as its position on maritime law disputes, commercial matters, contracts, employment, regulations, taxes, tariffs and immigration matters. The team has been busy with multiple major transactions already in 2019. Among other notable successes, it assisted on the company’s acquisition of a 30% stake in KA Petra’s ship-to-ship hub, a major investment in to the Malaysian shipping market, and it also secured a US$775m deal with CN Rail and the Port of Québec to develop a new container terminal.
