Oz Management’s Asia-Pacific team is responsible for advising on and managing all legal, regulatory, compliance and reputational risk matters in the region. David Zeiden, general counsel and chief operating officer of Oz Management, leads the firm’s operations in Asia-Pacific, with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and Mumbai. He works closely with senior management globally to plan and execute strategic initiatives across the region. The team is responsible for advising on and managing all legal, regulatory, compliance and reputational risk matters in the aforementioned countries. The team also provides legal and structural advice on portfolio investments including public equities covering Asian and US markets, private equity, convertible bonds, credit and special situations investments. The company focuses on the multi-strategy, real-estate and credit advising, and as such the legal department has been involved in the implementation of new financial regulations and compliance measures such as GDPR, Dodd-Frank and others in order to keep running its approximately US$33.3bn of assets under management.
