About

The 39 members of the Air France legal team have a demanding workload to regularly navigate. Among others, the diverse areas of transport, distribution, consumers and IP, corporate, contracts and international projects, cargo, maintenance, compliance, data privacy, insurances are among the daily concerns, even before some of the more high profile work the team has a hand in come into play. When speaking about the team, former general counsel Sophie Gelbert said earlier this year: ‘It is difficult to highlight key individuals since without all of them the legal department could not have achieved its mission, but – especially considering the specificities of the industry and its sensitive challenges – the Air France legal team contains experts in their fields who are highly adaptable to unforeseen circumstances and able to propose creative solutions. I am very proud of the team. It is their work ethic, professionalism, extraordinary devotion to Air France, team spirit and commitment to excellence which contribute to Air France’s strategic and financial goals. To be part of Air France DNA is an honour we are very proud of’. The Air France team culture is built around keeping the company’s economic, political and technical environments in mind in order to generate alternative, agile, innovating, fully legal and efficient solutions. By all accounts, it has proved successful on a number of major projects over the past two years. In addition to ensuring compliance with a number of new regulations has gone smoothly, it has represented the company in notable, projects, litigations and has set up major new business entities.
