Rafael Lorenzo has been involved in cross-border M&A transactions Latam-Spain, as well as private equity and corporate operations during private practice in Uría Ménendez and Deloitte, encompassing his expertise in commercial law and the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, either for B2B and B2C businesses.

As part of the legal team of Insud Pharma Group, he was responsible for advising in a wide range of corporate and pharmaceutical matters for the region of Latam and EMEA, including R&D, clinical and co-development, licence, supply and distribution, technology transfer, tenders, regulatory, public tenders, pricing and reimbursement processes and other sale and purchase portfolio’ transactions, as well as leading the legal topics concerning the manufacturing site and external CMOs. Afterwards, being responsible for legal assessment in pharmaceutical matters for the territories of APAC, the Middle East and North-Africa. Being promoted as global legal head of Mabxience and member of the Executive Committee.

Likewise, legal counsel in Merck for the territories of Spain and Portugal, and regular legal advice to the Eastern Europe Cluster, as well as concerning the life science business. Currently he is part of the legal department of Astellas Pharma providing legal assessment to Spain, Portugal and commercial established markets, providing regular advice and collaboration in Latam regions for specific transactions and projects.
