Founded in 1998, Naftogaz of Ukraine is the national oil and gas company of Ukraine and is involved with the extraction, transportation, and refinement of natural gas and crude oil. It is state-owned by the Government of Ukraine. Aside from purely commercial operations, the company plays an important social role and supplies natural gas to households, budget-funded institutions and utilities at prices set by the state. Yuriy Kolbushkin is director of legal and compliance and has worked for Naftogaz since the very foundation of the company. He currently leads a legal team which is commended for its successful risk mitigation and compliance with relevant regulation, and is one of the most important and noteworthy functions in terms of the oil and gas sector in Eastern Europe.
